Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - On Sunday evening, January 27, 2013, Mountain Park First Baptist Church gave a music preview for the new year to a large crowd of choir members, member of the congregation and new members. It was an evening of fun, fellowship, worship and great food.
The evening began with a real surprise. Well, the surprise was announced to the church choir by Worship Minister Josh Sutton at the previous Wednesday night's choir practice and then it was re-iterated at the morning service on Sunday. The surprise was that he and Senior Pastor Paul Ballard were going to sing a duet at the beginning of the Music Preview 2013 program. Everyone in attendance definitely got a great laugh and truly learned what fellowship was all about. "What a great beginning to the program," one member was heard saying while still laughing. Worship Minister Josh Sutton ran the rest of the way with the program and went over the music. Tracks of the music presented were played and the room did break out in a great time of singing and worshiping to the Lord.
As new members of Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, my wife Amy and I have really found a great new church home. It has been a wealth of knowledge for both of us and from Bible Study on Sunday morning to the service that follows, you can only depart with a great feeling of worship and so much more.
Presently, the sermon series given by Pastor Paul Ballard has been all about the Gospel and it has been extremely enlightening.
